The precode calculator works with many Renault models equipped with classic Tuner List or Update List radios.
Quick answer: identify the exact radio input required by your unit before entering any code. Renault and Dacia usually use a precode; Ford usually uses a serial number.
How to unlock it safely
Common compatible models include Clio, Megane, Scenic, Laguna, Kangoo, Trafic and several related Dacia/Nissan units.
- Turn the ignition on and power the radio.
- Display or read the precode/serial number.
- Use the correct calculator for that input format.
- Enter the four digit code carefully and confirm it.
Important notes
It does not normally apply to VIN-paired MediaNav, R-Link, Easy Link or aftermarket radios.
Warning: avoid repeated random attempts. Many OEM radios lock temporarily after several wrong codes.
When the online method may not work
The calculator method is intended for supported OEM units. It may not work for aftermarket radios, VIN-paired multimedia systems, damaged displays, locked dealer-only units or radios that have already been replaced with a different model.
